High Street Cultural Regeneration Kettering
Michael Collins Architects collaborated with ACP to coordinate a winning cultural consortium bid to the Historic England High Street Action Zones fund. We worked closely with a large group of local cultural groups and Kettering Borough Council as part of a consultation exercise to create a thematic structure and programme of content linked to various urban spaces. The strategy aimed to reframe public perceptions of the town centre and generate new activities along the high street in the wake of Covid 19 and pressures generated by out of town shopping. A new cultural route encompassing building repairs and the restoration of a new mural are linked to a new library and gallery refurbishment being led by Anna Collins.
